One of the things that i have not been doing these past weeks is to visit my friends blogs, have been really busy with school lessons and this time i promise myself that when we get back from the mall i will defintely catch up on a lot of blog happenings from my friends. Weekend Madness

Yup, i go berserk when its a Friday ... hahaha!

My time and the kids to go to the mall to meet up with Christian there and not be in a hurry to go home because there is no school tomorrow! Yey!

I actually made a list of what i will be buying (window shopping first, lol!) so i don't miss on anything, i have to restock on pencils, bondpaper and chalk for the kids, get the biggest photopaper available, scout for a good external hard drive for my laptop, bring the kids to the playground, try on some purple tops that i saw last week but didn't have time to fit and eat at McDonalds! I love making lists, i make mine short and realistic that way i get to finish everything on it and get the feeling of satisfaction that i did good for the day, hahaha!

I love the weekend!

Cafe Cozy

Whenever Christian and i talk about a possible business venture for us to go into he always would add to the list opening an internet cafe as a good way to go. I know that computers are really the thing nowadays and no one is still in the dark when it comes to computer usage. I would go into cafes and see the smallest children talk to their loved one ona webcam chat window and even see senior citizens opening their facebook account ... hahaha! So i guess going in the internet cafe business will not be a risky thing to do considering the popularity and the widespread usage, but i know the cafe has to have things that will stand out from the other kiosks available. I was thinking serving real food and small nooks for the users, maybe have rack mount computer installed instead of just on tables, a separate area for the gaming crowd as they become rowdy and a more quiet corner for webcam users to give them privacy when they talk to their family and friends. I wonder what we will call it ... hmmmm ... Cozy Net or Cafe Cozy .... hmmm.

I am getting excited with the many possibilities!

Sun and Rain

This is the time that our bodies are really going bonkers ... its really hot then after a few hours its raining like crazy. I welcome the rain, i am maybe one of the few people who loves it when it rains and even loves going out in the rain, but what i don't like is the after rain smell especially when it just cools the pavement and the ground lets out a odor taht i really don't like. It makes the air hotter and humid when it is just a little rain, that is why i am very particular with our home ventilation because i don't want to trap that smell in our house whenever it rains. Bea has rhinitis and these odors really trigger her allergy. I really take particular attention not to make their rooms stuffy and to air them out all the time.

I love the rain ... bring it on!

Growing Horns

I have received a lot of comments asking me if i really poseed like this on purpose ... and i told them the story behind it. It was actually Christian's prank on me ... when he was taking the picture he kept asking me to move to the left, then to the right, little more and when he got the exact position he clicked away, he was laughing all the time he was giving me directions, and when the photo was taken he showed it to me! I laughed really hard ... and so did the three kids! Of course, i also asked him to pose and stand there while i took the shot he willingly obliged.

I am really fortunate to have happy and silly family members!

Graduating

My cousin will be graduating this November from college and she is starting to give out application forms to several hospitals to start her job hunting activities that soon will dominate her next year's calendar. I remember when i graduated i already had a line up of preferred hotels and resorts as my dream job. I was fortunate enough to land a job that i liked on my first try. My cousin will be graduating from nursing school and she is very lucky as jobs for health care is very popular these days. I am sure she will not have a difficult time securing a position in her preferred health care as she is an honor student all throughout her high school and college years. Good education is something that i always stress on my kids as well, this is one thing that you can never go wrong with and will open doors for you in the future.

Toys Put To Good Use

This is Vin's Science project in school, i helped him make it and is now displayed inside their classroom. These are two trees, one the healthy tree filled with healthy fruits, vegetable and other food while the other one is filled with junk food and sweets and is labeled the junk tree. I used Bea and Sam's play food for this project and am thankful that they allowed Vin to use their toys, especially since they will not be getting it back. Thanks to my girls we were able to make this a cool 3d project.

I have a client in my design work (yes, i still have my designing business despite my heavy schedule of teaching and mommy duties) who asked me to make a layout for a sport theme. This is what i made for her. She did not focus in only one sport so the party theme caters to everyone in the family, great idea if you ask me. She is also thinking of good and unique giveaways and prizes for the party. She is having some Sports Shirts done with the names of her guests so it will take the place of the name tags and she is also thinking of getting some colorful, funky basketballs, personalized footballs and some baseball caps for her party guests. I really love parties and helping be part of their special celebration!

Yey!

I just love eating grilled food and luckily this one food that even my kids love, so it is now only me that makes me excited whenever Christian announces a cook out. I love the grilled taste and flavor but much as i want to say it is okay with me i cannot say i enjoy the smoke that grilled food comes with. The smoke really gets into my eyes and leave me teary eyed the entire time i devour my yummy perfectly grilled meat. Christian came home today with something that we have talked about that we will be getting ... finally we have an electric grill that will give me the same smokey taste minus the smoke! Hurrah!

I can't wait to try it out! Will be tossing in a few corn cobs and mushroom to complete the meal ... yum!

Giant Mosaic

Brought the kids to see the giant mosaic showcasing the late Corazon Aquino's life. This was in Luneta and was open for public viewing for one week so i made sure the kids saw it. They enjoyed looking at the pictures up close and even counted the number of pictures used to make this enormous mosaic. This mosaic has been submitted to the Guiness World Records as the biggest mosaic, hope it makes it.

My cousin will be having his birthday on Friday, we were chatting in facebook and i asked him if he wanted something special from me. I jokingly said that he be gentle with his requests ... hehehe! He said he wanted some cool tees that he can wear in school and said he wanted Penshoppe tops or blac label clothing or anything that somewhat resembled it. Young adults nowadays have their own style and if they are comfortable with it then i see nothing wrong with it. I wonder what my girls will be wearing when they reach that age. I am fortunate that both Bea and Sam don't mind wearing anything i give them, they don't mind even if i give them identical clothes with different color. Bliss .. for now. :)

Uh Oh

Here i go again ... left my keys for the third time this year ... senior citizen moment ...hahaha!

I had to call Christian again in the office and tell him that i left the house keys inside the house again ... tee hee! I did not want to call a locksmith and destroy our reliable doorknob which is newly installed, got Kwikset this time and i don't want to replace it just yet. Christian now has devised a plan so i will not be locked out anymore, he is giving me extra house keys that will be in my bag for this suprised incidents, heheheh! He said i will not use these extra keys everyday it will be just kept in my bag's pocket and i will still use my keys to get in and out the house, so in essence i will be carrying around two sets of house keys all the time. Hope this plan works!

Grown Up

This is the complete Avellana siblings. When i downloaded it from my camera and looked i realized that we have all grown up but despite that we still look the same ... still have the same expressions when we were kids. We all have different lives now but take comfort with the knowledge that we will look out for each other no matter what. I love my sisters and my brother and am very lucky to have shared my growing up days with them.

Reminicing

I always say time is fast and can really suprise you with its swift movement, but i still have to have to realize that my kids will no longer be babies and be tweens in just a few years. Bea has already entered the pre-teen stage and Sam if following fast. Vin may take a few more years (yey!) before he loses interest in cars and shifts to a different like .. hehehe! I was at the mall the other day and was looking for some nice and comfortable baby clothes for my God daughter who will be having her baptism on Friday. I was able to get her a few pieces and there i was again thinking that before i always frequented the Baby Section and was going through rompers and tie-side shirts for Bea and now we are at the Teen Section scouting for a cool top and skirt.

Yes, i always have to remind myself that time is so fast that i have to hold on to things that are precious to me for me to be able to make the most of it.

I have so much to be thankful for. Really i have. And these are things that money cannot buy. Not found in any stores. But gives me utmost joy.

My children's smiles is enough to keep me going and give meaning to my life. I wonder what i would have been had i not received these three special presents from Him.

Father's Day has long been over but Christian still can't get over our gift for him, we got him a Patek Philippe watch that he really likes, and believe me when i say that he has impeccable taste .. after all look at who he married ... lol! He is not much of a wristwatch person, he usually relies on his cellphone for time but now he proudly beams everytime i tease him and ask what time it is. I love giving gifts .. but love it more if the recepient treasures it, makes the whole gift giving idea special.

Scream For Ice Cream

Bea loves ice cream, especially strawberry flavored ones ... i asked Dairy Queen to make a special one for Bea ... her banana split order were all strawberry flavored ice cream, no chocolate syrups and cherries and nuts. She loved it and finished it so fast that i myself got suprised!

Babies No More

The day has come ....

Sam my second girl is now a full pledged lady. She was visited by the Red Monthly Fairy at only nine years old ... sob, sniff. I find it too early, my Sam is still a little girl and is not yet ready to act like a little lady. My eldest Bea was visited when she was eleven so i really find Sam's fairy quite early. I was being being teased by my sisters that i now am nearing my golden years now that my little girls are no longer babies ... hahahaha!

I will soon be scouting for the best acne treatments for my budding teenagers. I bought them some training brasseries already the other week. My shopping list will be changing dramatically in the days to come ... buying for three women now... tee hee!

I am so happy that my kids are growing up but sad at the same time that time does fly fast and like a thief in the night will suprise me some more.

Daddy Day Out

Christian and my brother Joel joined some games at the Father's Day celebration at the mall. They played hoops and tried to out best each other. There were a lot of contestants and they tried their best but i guess out of practice ... tee hee. My brother came in second, while Christian came third ... awwww. A generous price was given only to the first place,so our two bets did not get anything but happy smiles and loud cheering from their fans ... us! We had a great time and that makes us winners too!

Ended Soap

I love watching soap operas, it something i can do while i cook and prepare dinner. Today one of my favorite soap ended today, and as much as i try to hide it i felt a bit sad ... sentimental me. I kinda look forward to the many twists of this soap and not that it is finished a new one will start again. Even if i like soap operas i never had an interest to the popular Korean telenovelas ... must be the fact that they are not using their own voices and they are dubbed in Tagalog, it sort of distracts me that the actors lips do not match the words i hear ... hahaha!

So anyway, not that my favorite soap has reached an end i now have more time to surf the net and what great timing this is as i am in search for some safe and effective appetite suppressants to help me trim down. I have seen a few but i still want to look and read reviews before i finally make a decision on which one to use, always better to be safe than sorry.

This is what makes my weekends special, going out with my siblings and their families for lunch even going till dinner and if it falls on a Sunday we hear mass together. This is also a special time for my children to meet up with their cousins and play in the playground bwhile we adults go around the mall ... hahaha! I was able to buy nice outdoor chair cushions to be used in our rooftop chairs so i have a comfy place while i watch the kids wade in our inflatable swimming pool. A good book, a cold drink and a great comfortable chair will surely do me good. My sister-in-law got two of it too and said she will use hers indoor ... well whatever rocks your boat i must say.

Mongolian Fare

Dining out has always been a favorite bonding activity for our family and this is one of the activities we all look forward to every weekend. We don't see each other during weekdays since we all have work and we live quite far apart and we make it a point to meet up during weekends to catch up on each others activities. I maybe attribute my gaining weight to this fun activity but this is something i will not give up. I might just find a way to suppress appetite and yet not compromise my meeting up with my Mama and Papa during weekends. I have never been so determined to lose weight than now ... but then again it is only now that i have started gaining unwanted pounds as i have always been underweight. So here is the determined me saying i can do this and fight this suprising weight gain before i turn 41.
