My Blooming Girl

My sammie girl is a very shy lady. You can hardly hear her voice if you talk to her and she does not know you very well. This school year she managed to go out of her shell and show the world what she is made of ... a beautiful and smart girl inside and out! She is the second honor in her grade three class and she got a gold medal for being first place in the school's poster making contest. My little sammie girl is not little anymore .. watch out world .. Sam is out!

My Performer

Bea just loves performing! May it be singing or dancing she really gives it her all! You can see her face how she enjoys dancing and singing, she never complains about long hours of rehearsals. She is my performer and hope she remains to love what she does because that is the most important thing ... to love what you do and not be forced to do anything you do not like. Live life to the fullest!

My Graduate

My first timer! Vin finished his first year in school and graduated from kindergarten with honors! He is in the top ten of his class, bagged the third honor award, he is also received conduct awardee and he was awarded a medal for being best in science. Wow, how's that for a first timer!

So proud of my little boy!

Quit Is It

My mom has been wanting to quit smoking for the longest time, but she hesitates because smoking really gives her comfort expecially after a heavy meal. I researched on the internet and found the growing popularity of people resorting to electric cigarettes as a way of quitting and at the same time not quitting on the effects that they feel after having a smoke. I feel this is for my mama, so i copied the details and will let her see it this weekend if she wants to give it a go. Quitting real tobacco cigarettes will definitely benefit her and the people around her and yet she still will get what she wants from a good cigarette stick.

Here's to quitting!

Good Deal

I was checking on our life insurance rates on the net when i came across this great phone sale! It looks promising! Imagine a brand new dual sim phone for only P3990 and if you go during the sale day (march 30) and bring an old/broken cellphone that does not have a qwerty keypad and trade it in for these new qwerty pad phones you slash a cool P1000 off the sale price! Cool!

I am thinking if i need another phone ... i have two cellphones that are quite old and have not used it for some time, i am thinking of trading it off for these great deals. I will have to ask Christian first though since the money is going to come from him ... tee hee.

Crashed

Here we go again ... like i have not learned my lesson the last time it happened. My computer's drive C crashed! I am actually working on four projects at the present and have sent low reslotion layouts to my clients waiting for their approval or revisions and this happens. Makes me realize more that computers really can make or break my day! Yup, now i have to do all the layouts again since i was not able to save anything. I am thinking of looking into getting an external hard disk so i can always have a back up of my work. For now the only solution i had to do was reinstall windows which deletes all my programs and files.

Slowly but surely i will be back on my feet .. this is me sounding very optimistic. sigh.

Register

Easter Activities abound this time of the year! This came in my email and will be registering my kids to this fun event (finger crossed that it will really be fun!), there are only 200 slots available for this Fun Ranch event. Click on the image to see it up close so you can register your kids too! See you there!

Protein Boost

There is a newly opened weightlifting gym here in our village and with my prodding i asked Christian to check it out over the weekend. I passed by it yesterday while going to the market and saw that they had some nice machines and was kinda thinking of enrolling there as well when a sign in black bold lettering read: "Hard Core Gym. For Men Only." I peeped inside to really look if there were no females, hahaha, and yup there was no girl in sight. I noticed the men had some good muscles already, they must be the instructors, i wonder if they know the best protein powder to build muscles fast, i am sure they are taking some kind of protein drink or shake ... i will ask Christian to ask around to help jumpstart his brawn challenge. Lol!

Shaping Up

My long standing challenge to Christian is to build his muscles .. pressuring him is more like it! I have been pointing out to him when we are in malls some men walking around (i am so mean!) and challenge him to look like that in just a few months, he just smiles and says "Sure, no problem!" ... and taht has been going on for more than a year ... hhahaha! There is a problem don't you think? Lol!

Another thing is his fast receding hairline that i willingly point out all the time (i can be his worst critic!) and urge him to find ahair loss cure before it is too late. he again just smiles and says, "No problem." ... sigh.

I wonder if all my pressuring will take effect when i show him how easily i was able to flatten ny tummy in less than two weeks with just some simple exercises. I think he really needs some competition .... bring it on!

Heat

The heat is really on!

My scalp is complaining and i might have to switch to milder shampoo as i now take two to three showers a day and since my hair is long and has been rebonded it has to be shampooed and conditioned every time. I am afraid i might get dandruff pretty soon because i am overdrying my scalp with my daily baths, but what can i do my body is yearning for it.... hahaha! I remeber last summer when we went outing and we stayed in an inn i developed some kind of skin disease and was prescribed eczema treatment for it and after a few weeks it went away. The doctor said it was because of the ever changing weather ... i am afraid something like that will suddenly happen again. I love summer but i don't like the heat!

Pooped

The last two weeks has been very hectic, was rreally so tired that come night time my body is craving to lie down and finally call it a day. I had a lot of design orders plus the final examintaions of the three kiddies were in full swing and the coverage of the exams was from cover to cover of their books ... whew! I was able to get by as you can see i am still alive and blogging ... hahaha, but boy was it a ride! Another thing that contributed to my fatigue was the scorching heat, that is why i am drowning myself to sparkling water, my daily multivitamin and all the fruits i can get to somehow give me the strength i need to do my duties. I really have to find a way to relax!

Birthdays

Bea and Vin's birthdays are coming up soon!

Bea will turn 12 on Sunday, March 14 while Vin will be 6 on March 18.

Bea made a cute invitation for her school party, and she made it in less than 10 minutes, she combined three of her favorite characters at the moment.

Very nice invite!

Last Day

Yup, last day!!!

Finally, the kids will have their last bout with final examinations tomorrow for this school year! My friends and i were talking about how we have endured being in school every single day for ten months .. i can hardly believe that so many days passed since the first day in June. Whew.

A lot has happened this school year especially since the first year that all my kids are in school, this being Vin's first year. I am happy to say that everything went well and until now all three kids love going to school and were not absent unless they were not feeling well. I remember there was even a time they all had to be absent because we brought Bea to the hospital because she was vomitting, slight fever and had diarrhea and iwas sort of panicky since that was the time AH1N1 made its entrance. I wanted to make sure it was not the dreaded flu like disease. Brought all of them to our pedia to make sure, good thing that Makati Medical is high on maintining its cleanliness even at the lobby with the presence of hospital disinfectant readily available in every corner, makes me feel at ease in one way. Bea was just prescribed to rest and more fluid intake and our pedia said it was just viral and that htere was nothing to worry. So the next day Sam and Vin were back in school and caught up with the missed lessons from their absence.

I am happy with the outcome of this year .. and hope next year will be as fruitful as well.

Tripping

My co-mommy in school is inviting me to go on a tripping to see properties that she said is quite promising and the magic word is it is affordable. It is a two hour drive from Manila but she says it is worth it. She has been telling me that the units are well built, cemented floor, tiles in the bathroom, stone sinks, concrete stairs, vinyl flooring and you can even opt to have them place marble tiles too. I will have to discuss this with Christian first and assess if it is worth the trip if we do consider buying a house and lot since it is quite far from his workplace. Will discuss this tonight so we can schedule the tripping this weekend.

Holy Week

Time flies so fast ... in just a few days we will be observing Holy Week. Last year was memorable for us as we the entire Avellana family went to different churches to say the Stations of the Cross. I hope the kids pick up this tradition and do this even with their own families when they grow up because i really felt the cleansing and the repentance of each one of us during this activity. We start at three o'clock Black Friday until we finish all the stations of the cross, hopefully we can do this again this year with no mishaps. I am looking forward to this event and excited with Easter sunday too, only Vin will be hunting for eggs though as Bea and Sam are quite big for this activity.

Summer is here ... i can almost smell it!
