The day has come for the millions of people to try out the first ever automated election, i personally wanted to experience this as this is an event that will never repeat and that this is history unfolding.
Christian and i went to my brother's house to leave my kids there so they can play with their cousins while the three of us went to the polling stations to vote. Our spirits were high as we had different views about the whole process plus we were rooting for different candidates ... hahaha!
We arrived at the polling station and the polace was jampacked, still we did not mind and tried to look for our names to find out what precinct we were under (all the precincts were clustered because of the automated election) we did not find our names anywhere and was advised to look at the other polling station (a nearby highschool) as it might be listed there. Under the gruelling heat we walked there and to find out that our names (all three of us) were also not there. Spirits were dampening at this time as we were asked to go to the last polling station and check if it it there. At that very moment sweat started to appear and lookedd like i needed a wrinkle remover aseap!
So the last polling station we went .... no luck as well. Our names were nowhere to be found. There was no person to talk to with regards to these, and we were not the only ones experiencing this we were a handful at that moment.
Sad and frustrated we left and headed home.
Sad fact is we were not able to exercise our right to vote. No violent reactions though but it was a loss. Sigh.
Next elections in three years.
