I can't believe the heat these past few days.

Scorching .. and it's not even summer ... whew.

I usually stay in school waiting for Vin's break time and my head is about to explode from the heat,i come to school armed with my new found friend ... my fan!


It is so hot!

Barbers Cut

Took Vin to have a haircut in a real barbershop for the first time. We always go to a beauty salon that cater both to male and female clients, or sometimes if it's just simple snipping i do it myself (poor VIn .. hahaha!)

Vin had his first taste of manly grooming, glad he liked the experience too, so from now on it's off to the barber shop for Vin's do.

After i treated him to some pancakes at the mall while i was on the search for some effective and safe weight loss pills my friend has been raving about. I am one person who want to look around and get the best deal after all i don't want to compromise my health by just looking good, so my primary requirement is it has been proven safe and effective as well. Here's to beauty and good health!

It Has Happened

Finally, after many months of waiting .. it has finally come .... my 40th birthday! eep!

Yes, i still can't believe it ... i am sure it will get a while for me to get use to my new number. There has been so many things said about this time of our lives ... life begins at 40 ... midlife crisis .... half of my life has gone by and so many other things. In as much as i want to get away from the stereotyping attitude when it comes when you get to be 40 ... i can't help but get affected.

Yes again, my being 40 has struck me from nowhere and suddenly i have mixed feelings.

Also it coincided with Vin strting to go on sleepover at my mom's house (without me!) that makes me think if i am no longer needed. sob. sniff.

I actually have "idle" time on my lap. What will i do with it?

Maybe that is why people my age (eeep!) start going into fitness programs, travelling spree (i wish!) and other hobbies all of a sudden.

I am actually planning on starting going to a gym (a gym opened near our house a few days ago ... a sign maybe?! Hahahah) and i am now looking at outfits to wear ... hahaha ... i am actually eyeing on a pair of MBT shoes to start me off my trek to physical enhancement ... especially now that i feel my metabolism has slowed down ... heheheh!

I think i am overeacting with the number ... but then again ... not ... i am 40!

Believe

I was on the net searching for anything on ecommerce fulfillment for my sister who works in a call center when i came across this picture of a monk showing what one can achieve if we put our mind and body into it. Amazing huh?

I am one believer that if you really practice and have confidence in yourself anything is truly possible, We are the masters of our destiny, what we think in attaining it is a major factor in actually getting there.

Believe in yourself and you will be surpised with the endless possibilities you can do. Yes we can!

Facebook Mania

My kids (especially Bea nad Sam) are on hooked on Facebook's game application called "Pet Society" and they created their own pets to their liking and take care of it virtually. They dress them up with fancy clothes, build them house, go to the store to get them pet supplies to keep them well groomed and happy. They are really hooked into it and like making friends with the other pets too. I allowed them to play the game because i know it teaches them nurturing skills and teaches them to become responsible too.

Prize

Vin had his very first tooth extraction last week and our dentist was surprised that Vin took the whole procedure very well. I told Vin that the dentist was going to fix his tooth and that he had to close his eyes because the medicine might go inside his eyes. He closed it obediently and remained close the whole time. He showed no sign of pain or discomfort. I was rambling on how good he is in school to the dentist to make the room very comfortable and to get Vin's mind out of the dentist scenario ... he would wag his finger if i said something wrong and would give me a thumbs up when i was saying something good ... hehehe .. all these still with his eyes closed.

In less than ten minutes it was all over. Our dentist gushed on Vin's behavior and gave him a prize ... these are small balls (called "Kisses") that when you put in water it will grow into big soft balls (not edible) to play with.

She said she normally gives one pack to good patients ... but made an exception and gave Vin two packs for his extraordinary behavior ... hehehe!

Beauty Fix

I think i have not blogged about Bea having her very first salon treatment ... had her hair rebonded and she happily endured four hours sitting down to get the whole process done. I stayed with her and made sure everything was going well, i would step out for a few minutes though to get an icecream or drink in a nearby snack cart to replenish my mini beauty queen.

She had no qualms keeping still and really enjoyed her beauty treatment ... starting young ... hehehe!

The parlor was equipped with high tech gadgets and it amazes me the many possibilities one can do.. there was a service called "digital perm" , and i think that lasts for ten hours ... whew.

Bea had a few bathroom breaks to be able to stretch her legs a while, the bathroom also was hi-tech with sensore toilet bowls that flushes when you are done, the hand dryers also was automatic, even the soap dispenser was sensor activated. Technology really is going beyond my imagination, i wonder what will be coming out next.

Fruits and Veggies

I helped out in the school's activities by making Fruits and vegetables hats for the pre-school's dance. One hat for fuits and one only had vegetables .. the kids were all excited to wear them and use them during their very first event in their school life ... hehehe!

Vacation

Eversince Vin started school he would alsways ask me whenever he wakes up this. "Mama, is there school today?", "Mama am i still kinder?" "Mama, when will vacation come ... how many sleeps?"

This line of questionig comes from groggy from sleep little boy ... and i am so amused because his voice is still soft and yet he always remebers to ask me these questions everyday. I told him the other time that when school is over we will go on a vacation ... his eyes lit up and said, "How many more sleeps is that?!" .. i said "A lot, but you already started" .. hehehe!

He is so excited with the "vacation" time i promised that is why i have to be true to my word, so here i am looking and searching for the perfect summer holiday for my three kids who will finish school and will really deserve a vacation after all the hard work.

I have been looking at Disneyland vacation packages, Hong Kong holidays and my friend also suggested looking into Branson vacations which i will consider as well. I really love bringing the kids on vacations especially now that they are already big enough to remember the experience even when they are grown up. Fun times are definitely up ahead!

Holiday Tomorrow

A special non-working holiday has been declared for tomorrow to give everyone chance for everyone to be part of (Ex-President)Cory Aquino's funeral. I have never been a follower of any political party ... but i feel the loss of this one great woman who has been through so much. She is a epitome of what a true Filipina is. I know there are a lot talk about her, but for me she has been the best that she can be in every role that she has been given .. from a dutiful wife, to the unexpected president and more so being the mother to her children and grandmother to her grandchildren.

May you rest in peace Cory and may you be together in heaven with Ninoy at last .. you have lived your life to the fullest and your children will reap the rewards of what you have instilled in them. I will pray for her eternal repose of her soul.

Nutrition Day

My kids celebrated Nutrition day in school last Friday and they (the students) prepared dances and skits for the parents. We were also asked to bring some potluck food to share, my kids were assigned nutritious drinks ... so i made Calamansi (lemon) juice and put them in 1.5 liter bottles. I made three and made Calamansi Juice labels as well ... hehehe! It sure was a hit! Tee-hee!

Some parents even asked me if i bought the juices because of the labels, and i proudly said that i made them for this event. A lot of my friends sampled the juice since it was a very nutritious low-calorie drink and most of them are on diet pills and did not want to disrupt their weight program. They all liked it and when i was going to get some for the kids they were all gone .... bottles too! Hehehe!

Wedding On Saturday

We have a wedding to go to next Saturday, and i am so excited ... why you ask? No, i am not getting married again (hahaha!) but Christian's cousin will walk the magical aisle but most importantly Vin will be wearing a tuxedo for this once in a lifetime event! Wow! I am sure he will look dapper and smart in that ensemble, it would surely bring tears to my eyes seeing my little boy transform into a little man. I just love weddings .. a reason to look good and be amongst family and friends to celebrate life!
