Boxes Record

Showing off my latest box order which took me three whole days to finish .. from layout, printing to folding them. These are the things i will have to give up if we move to Baguio ... i can still accept layout/design orders though .. and maybe if things go well there i can open a shop there .. thinking positive here. Hehehe! I will just see where the road will lead me .. but will still be on the lookout on signs along the way.

Close up of the personalized box

Ready for the Dedication!

Moving Plans Still Up

My wanting to reside in Baguio is still in the air ... it just hasn't been discussed as lengthily. Sigh.

I know there are many risks and it is such a big decision, but like i always say "nothing ventured, nothing gained". How will i know if i haven't tried?

I am just fortunate that Christian is giving me a free hand on deciding. Wish i knew what would be best.

If this pushes through i would have to scout for reliable moving companies really soon and get a feel of how much it will cost us to move the whole house. Will have to hold a garage sale before the move too. That is we do move? Sigh.

Poor Scooter

This is the picture i was talking about in this post, me on Vin's tiny scooter .. hehehe!

Food Weakness

Pizza tops the list of my favorite (comfort food too!) food! Just thinking about it makes me feel like picking up the phone to call for a fast delivery! Yummy! I also am very partial to grilled food, may it be fish or meat, i love it! Have to think of a way though to go around it by practicing healthy grilling to somehow keep the family's diet and health in check. Tomorrow is Sunday and that means Christian is available to man the griller, yey!

Kitchen Hunt

Have been looking through a lot of kitchen accesories now that there is a possibility of a major renovation coming soon! Yey! What caught my fancy is this handsome looking Hansgrohe faucet, looks really classy yet versatile! What do you think? I am really excited with the upgrade and i spend a lot of time looking at a lot of things for this project to make it really perfect!

Hanging Out

Here are more pictures i uploaded from my memory stick and shows how the kids enjoy our new found activity. They bring their wave board, scooter and RC cars for an afternoon (stretching till night) hang-out, while i pig out on McD .. hehehe!

There is even a picture here where Vin is teaching Tata (my mama) how to ride his tiny scooter ... and my mama was such an active student! I remember i too have been Vin's protegee before ... will try and look for that picture and post it here as soon as i find it!

Back To Reality

Now that the holiday feasting is done .. can't argue about over-eating, everything looked yummy and would be such a shame not to sink my teeth into the treats! I now have to reach over for some diet pills that work to get my pre-holiday figure back safely and fast. I also made a promise to myself to lose the extra pounds that stragetically kind of liked being in my tummy area .. hahaha! I know i can do it .... just a little time ... positive thinking will have to work overtime! lol!

Blue's Kiss

Vin loves Blue!

This is his latest favorite character joining Power Rangers, Tiger (from Winnie d'Pooh) and Spiderman. He was so thrilled when we saw a wrist (magnetized paws) plush Blue doll! He straps it around everywhere .. from his wrist, legs, ankles, several attempts on his head and on any metal surface. His imagination amazes me!

Holiday Smiles

The holidays sure was a happy time for Bea, Sam and Vin! We practically scoured all the malls (and i mean ALL! Hehehe!) for all the fun things to do and make the most of the Christmas break. I tried to cut down on my designing load to maximize the free time with the kiddoes and it really paid off .. the recent break really was something they will always remember.

Now that they so busy playing with their Christmas loot (which they still have not opened all the boxes) i have time to finally sit down and study my life insurance quotes and finalize it with a decision. I just waited for "my" time ... heheheh ... and now it has arrived. I know i will pick the right plan for me!

Asbestos Alert

I recently came across a different kind of cancer and this is caused by asbestos. I researched further and found out who are the most prone to Mesothelioma (cancer caused by exposure to asbestos) and found this:

Work Environments

  • Asbestos product manufacturing (insulation, roofing, building, materials)
  • Automotive repair (brakes & clutches)
  • Construction sites
  • Maritime operations
  • Mining operations
  • Offshore rust removals
  • Oil refineries
  • Power plants
  • Railroads
  • Sand or abrasive manufacturers
  • Shipyards / ships / shipbuilders
  • Steel mills

Occupations

  • Asbestos removal workers
  • Workers at exfoliation facilities where vermiculite ore from Libby, Montana, was processed
  • Demolition workers
  • Workers at asbestos product manufacturing plants
  • Auto mechanics
  • Boilermakers
  • Bricklayers
  • Building inspectors
  • Carpenters
  • Drywallers
  • Electricians
  • Floor covering manufacturers or installers
  • Furnace workers
  • Glazers
  • Grinders
  • Hod carriers
  • Insulators
  • Iron workers
  • Laborers
  • Longshoremen
  • Maintenance workers
  • Merchant marines
  • Millwrights
  • Operating engineers
  • Painters
  • Plasterers
  • Plumbers
  • Roofers
This is really an eye opener for me. In my research too found out that legal help is also extended through a reputable Mesothelioma lawyer that specializes with this kind of legal battle so you are guranteed a good fighting chance. All is not lost after all, you just need a good back up.

Long Holidays

There will be 10 long holidays in 2009.

Last Christmas eve, Arroyo signed Proclamation 1699 that lays out the holiday schedule this year.

First on the holiday list is a three-day weekend before the Easter break.

The observance of Araw ng Kagitingan (Day of Valor) on April 9 (Thursday) was moved to the nearest Monday which is April 6.

This will be followed by the Easter holidays from April 9 (Maundy Thursday) until April 12 (Easter Sunday).

The other regular holidays are:

  • Labor Day-May 1(Friday);
  • Independence Day- June 12 (Friday);
  • National Heroes Day- August 31 (Monday);
  • Bonifacio Day - November 30 (Monday);
  • Christmas Day- December 25 (Friday); and,
  • Rizal Day- December 30 (Wednesday).

Arroyo declared the following as Special Non-Working Days:

  • Ninoy Aquino Day - August 21 (Friday);
  • All Saints Day - November 1 (Sunday) and All Soul’s Day - November 2 (Monday);
  • Christmas Eve - December 24 (Thursday); and,
  • New Year’s Eve - December 31 (Thursday).

The president has long been implementing holiday economics to boost domestic tourism and allow Filipinos to have more time with their families.

Holiday economics entails the transfer of some holidays to a Monday or a Friday so that Filipinos may enjoy longer weekends.

I am excited with all long weekends! My head is reeling with the many places we can go to take advantage of the holidays, i am looking at the best travel deals possible and discuss it with Christian so we can some up with a good travelling plan!

Random Shots

Here are a few shots of the kids enjoying their latest fancy :)

Weekend Hobby

My kids, my sister Loren and i have started on a new hobby ... it's waveboarding! We saw a lot of during the holidays that is why we decided to try it out. I bought the kids a board last Dec 29 (a red board) and i was the very first one on it and to date the only casualty .. hahaha!

Bea and my sister Loren (who also has her own board) are good on it, while Sam and I are still training mode. I watched a lot of videos of it on youtube.com to see how it really works and have seen how far it can go. I also now have a vast knowledge on bearings, hydraulics and even wheel alignment to make sure our board is safe to use. Have also searched the net for head gear and other pads for protection (for me! hahah!)

This has been a weekend activity for us and the kiddies are always looking forward to it, Vin on the other hand just loves his scooter as he understands the waveboard is just not yet ready for him. So expect to see us at Boni High every weekend as they embark on their waveboarding activities.

Here i am trying to ride it while drinking my vanilla shake, Sam always there to lend me a hand ... hehehe!

And away i go ... Gang way!

I Am Wealthy

Another great year has passed and i am forever grateful for all that i have! I have been truly blessed! I have no reason to complain about anything ... i have everything that in my book matters ... i have my family!

I am wealthy ... and i am not talking about money and material things alone, but the wealth of life .. yes, i am proclaiming myself .. wealthy!

I have resolutions swimming in my head and i vow to stick to it and really follow it to the letter. I will be a better person and be the best that i can be. I have accomplished so many things, but there are so many things to venture on .. and that i will do this year! The pages of 2009 are empty and i am excited to fill it up with love, chrished memories and unforgettable moments!

I will be turning 40 (eeep!) this 2009 ... and i shall face it headstrong!

Bring it on 2009!

Mac Goofing

Bea, Sam and their cousin Mikka made a lot of goofy creations ... here are a few of their poses!
