Free yourself

My mom and i was on the phone last night talking about her sister in America and how she has been doing. It seems she is doing good for herself and her family has acquired a few assets that they can call their own. Having your own house and car really can spell a difference and she was happy to have made the purchase. But i remember a few months back when she had some problems with her credit reputation and was finally able to deal with it by having to undergo credit repair with a good and reputable company ... and now she is able to gain what they have lost in terms of credit standing.

She was so inspired in sharing to my mom and her friends as well and she gave out this important piece of advise ... to fully scrutinize your credit report and have the right to question the veracity of it too. You have every right to seek out clarifications as sometimes there could be errors to the report especially since it is computer generated, a small error would lead to a big loss for you and your family. She suggested to ask for a free credit report available online so you can start assesing your credit score and have it corrected as soon as possible if it is displaying some discrepancies somewhere. If you really have commited some credit blunders, not all is lost as help is also available. You just have to get yor finances in check and consult a professional and you will be able to keep it back on the right track.

My Tita now is reaping the fruits of labor by checking her credit report and dealt with it in a legal and professional manner. The last thing she told my mom was that their family is looking at the possibility of travelling for leisure as soon as the my cousins go on summer break!

Wide array of cellphones

This Saturday at the mall i spent a considerable amount of time searching for the perfect cellphone for my new line. Was looking at the attractive cellphones, with the interchangeable casing, cell phone amplifiers, keychains and other added accesories that will make my new cellphone look even better! Will post picture of my new toy as soon as i decide on what exactly to buy ... there are a lot of choices!

TGIF

Yahoo! It is friday once again ... makes me feel like a high school student .. hahaha!

No more waking up at 5:30 am to prepare baon , can rest for two days!

Our weekends are well spent .. well planned too!

Tomorrow, we will AGAIN be going to Manila Ocean Park (kasi di ko matiis na di nakapunta si Bea, plus i feel for her when we are viewing our pictures - the ones without her) so tomorrow we will go at 10:00 in the morning. We will meet up with their cousins as well.

Then at 2:00 pm we are off to the Nickelodeon event "Let's go out and play" at the Fort, Makati. Will also meet my clients for delivery and queries after 5pm at Rockwell.

What a busy Saturday ... Sunday is another story .. hehehe!

At last our book

Yehey!

At last was able to make a mini book (10 pages) for the three kiddies. So happy with the outcome too!

Look at it and then me what you think ha!

Glass Bottom Boat

We rode the glass bottom boat at the ocean park too! The kids had a great time ssing the fish in a different way ..heheh! Here are pictures of their great boat ride!

Ocean Park Adventure

To those who are thinking of going to the Ocean Park, here is my take on it ... GO! hahaha!

Your kids (including yourself) will enjoy it! We were fortunate to visit the place na walang tao mashado considering it was a Saturday .. the onset of rain was a great advantage for us.

The moment we arrived we took pictures right away, pati signage di namin pinatawad! hehehe!

The fish we saw were really beautiful. The glass tunnel walk was a delight for Sam and Vin too ... plus the big factor was since there were less people we were not ushered to go walking and we could remain there as long as we wanted.

We went to the second floor where the Fish spa experience is, the shark pool and the Glass bottom boat ride (will post pictures in the next entry). Since Bea did not join us last Saturday, there is already plans of visiting it again soon!

Fish Spa

Sam and Vin had their first time encounter with small fish when we visited the Manila Ocean Park and we tried the Fish Spa! Both were excited to dip their feet and be kissed (yan kasi press release ko sa kanila..hehehe!)

They hurriedly took off their shoes and washed their feet and sat on the edge of the pool. After a few minutes one fish "kissed" Vin's toe and he was surprised and liked it .. but the thing is his toes won't stay put, kaya di nakakalapit mga fish. Sam on the other hand dipped her feet and then said "Mama, i don't like na" ... so in place of her toes ... my big toes went in! hahaha!

The first bite really is surprising! Then after a while you can't help but squirm and let out a small squeal kasi nakakakiliti! Hehehehe!

My sister Loren and i had a fun time having our feet "kissed" and believe me it really is relaxing!

It was so relaxing that when the man said, "Maam, time na po.." My sister and i looked at him at the same time and said "Ayyy, time na ..." hahaha! Nag-enjoy ang matatanda! lol!

That was relaxing 20 minute foot spa!

New Profile Pic

Changed my profile picture to this new picture ... made it black and white though for drama ... hahaha!

Just showing the original photo, taken last Saturday while having my nails done.

Will use this pic for my ym messenger profile na din :)

Mommy talk

Picked up my two girls from school today and was talking with the other mommies and our topic was ... money. School fees has really skyrocketed and my mommy friend actually has five kids in school at the same time! She has been having a difficult time making both ends meet, i can imagine why. She said her husband is already looking at the possibility of getting payday loans to help them settle the five simultaneous tuition fees, school supplies, books and uniform. This month really can bring your budget crazy with the onset of school and other materials that you have to pay, not to mention the rainy season has started ... more things to have repaired in the house. I wished her well and hope things go easy on her soon.

Mirror image

This is my first attempt to take my picture from a far away mirror :)

Just finished having a manicure and a pedicure and was waiting for my sister to finish when i brought out my phone and took the shot.

It was already late in the afternoon, hence the dark sky as my background. We went to my lola's house after the salon then off to Serendra for dinner.

Managing our finances

Christian and i have long time been trying to get the right balance of what we earn every month versus the actual amount we usually spend. It really takes a lot of knack in numbers to really strike a balance. Of course it also comes in to the picture the fact that i am a stay at home mom and that is one factor to take note of too. I started my design biz and luckily it has been good and somehow i am able to contribute to our monthly income, but of course there are times when we have one time large expenses like tuition fee that we have to make a cash advance to be able to get by. Luckily, these are temporary situations that are easily resolved by simply managing our finances well.

Manila Ocean park tomorrow

My sister and i are scheduled to bring the kids to the Manila Ocean Park tomorrow. We will sleep over in my mom's house tonight because we are thinking of going there when it opens to beat the crowd.

Vin is excited, especially when i told him that there is a place there were you dip your feet and small fishes will tickle your toes. Hahaha!

The girls on the other hand are not so keen on it .. one is because they are scheduled to go there on their field trip (September pa naman) and Sam is a little scared that the Sharks might ram the glass and break it ... hahah ... to much tv!

Well, will post pics next week!

Playing online

I have noticed when i visit blogs of my friends that their current past time is playing online casinos at the comfort of their home. It sure beats dressing up and going out of your house to go to casinos in hotels in the cities. This way you can still enjoy playing your favorite games leisurely with the wide popularity online casino available on the internet.

Weekend Malling

Time really is soooo fast!

I can't believe it's Friday again ... wow!

I have again scheduled my weekend for meet ups, this are the only days that i actually meet my clients face to face because during weekdays its Christian who meets up with them and i just talk to them on the phone, email and ym.

I have to make a list of things i have to do and buy in the mall so i am sure i cover everything ... i have to make sure i include in my list the school stuff for the kids, office supplies for Christian, padlocks for the rooftop gates, bag tags for the lunch kits and so many more. My mental list will not do this time, i really need to put it on paper! hahaha!

Upgarding still

My computer really is a work in progress ... and am glad that Christian is really bent on giving me the best set up possible! I know he is trying his best to alleviate all the trouble i encountered when my hard drive crashed last month so i guess he is helping me get the top of the line. He said he will be using CAT6 this time around. I am so excited to see the final set up really soon!

Record breaking book

My 24 hour , 20 page coffee table book layout record

front cover and back

first spread

more pictures of this in my design site

This to date is the record holding winner in the layout of the coffee table book ... i finished it in one day ... all 20 pages of it plus the front and back cover! I think i might not be able to top that again! hehehe!

I was really pressed for time, my client (from HSBC who will be giving this book to their expat boss who will be transferred to Australia)initially was ordering a 10 page book, but after meeting up with them and discussing/brainstorming for the pages they opt to get the 20 page book instead to accommodate all the information and pictures they wanted. They gave me a cd for all the pictures and was promised to wait for the other in my email after two days.

These were the days that my papa was hospitalized and i was going to the hospital everyday to check on him ... since i was still waiting for the additional text (messages/writeups from the employees) for inclusion in the book and pictures i did not start looking at the cd yet. I decided to finally open the cd and check the pictures ... only to discover that the cd was blank! Uh-oh! I called up my client (who was on a sick leave) and told her, we made arrangements for the cd to be given at Dusit Hotel (where we were billeted for a celebration that my papa is okay na) and finally opened the cd when i got home that night.

To say i was overwhelmed is truly an understatement ... but i do love challenges and i know if i set my mind to it it will be a piece of cake since i already had ideas on how i would go about the design. I was still getting emails from my client for inclusions (last na daw ... who am i to say no, if i can squeeze it in pa, why not) so the clock begins.

I sent the layouts for approval and together we talked about it over the phone ... there were some revisions as there were some mix ups with the photos they sent ... so i had to edit ... and finally it was okay to go for printing.

I am proud of this book and was doubly happy to see my client happy with the book too, makes all my sleepless hours worth it!

As soon as i get some time, have to finish a few more projects, i promised myself to finally scan pictures of the kids (the days when di pa uso ang digital camera) and make them into books. I will post them as soon as i finish them ... i just have to start first! hahahah!

Value of life lock

I just love my blog, and lest i say i just love to blog ... and i blog about just about anything that occupies my life, may it be trivial or an important aspect of my life. Blogging has become an outlet for me to share what is going on in my life and what is important for me at the moment. But sometimes i forget that this blog can be read by just anybody and it could in reality be an open target for identity theft. This is an ongoing crime that can happen to anyone really so i decided to surf and check on ways to address this ... was able to come across lifelock reviews and found it a good way to go to combat this.

Going through the advantages of getting this i can see the value of life lock more especially with having an active blog with personal pictures like the one i have. I am fortunate also that they have an ongoing promo, how timely for me! They have lifelock promo codes that are available on their website to get discounts when one opts to get yourself safe from fraudulent acts on you. Having this is actually an investment for your safety, not only on the internet but to your other belongings that are equally as important to you.

First day of school

Bea and Sam were really excited for school to start ... and finally the day finally came! They started the day with big smiles (even if you could see that they were so sleepy) and enthusiastically put on their school uniforms. They ate breakfast then we were off to school. I brought them and left Vin with Christian and it was an all girl off to school bonding moment. hehehe!

Their classrooms were both at the ground floor and this is good because their bags weighs a ton! They were really happy to see their old classmates and they easily made friends with the newcomers.

I left the school with a grin on my face, knowing the girls will be having a good time, that is really what school should be all about, learning while having fun with friends.
So an entire school year begins ... bring it on!

Shopping spree

My sister asked for my help to shop her entertainment area she is planning on giving her husband for their wedding anniversary. She has certain requirements for the set-up, she wants a large digital screen that uses state of the art HDMI accessories to ensure safe and crystal clear images. We are planning to hit the shopping scene early Saturday to finish all our shopping needs.

Snowland

Bea and Sam's grand culminating activity for McDonalds was at Star City last month and they had a fantastic time going through the rides. Their cousins came too (since Star City was also open to the public and not exclusive to McD's kiddie crew participants) and together we all went to the Ice Kingdom. You still have to pay entrance fee for this attraction even if you are already wearing the ride all you can tag. Before going in you have to sign a waiver as it is really so cold inside, you are likewise required to leave your cellphones, digital cameras and video cameras as it will ruin these things. We were given heavy jackets to wear too. When we went inside it was really cold and the walls were made of ice and there was even ice slides that Christian, Bea and Vin tried. Sam and I were feeling cold and smoke was coming out of mouths when we talk. I could hardly breathe well because of the cold and i think i stayed there only for 10 minutes and went out because my toes were getting painful.

When we all went out they chanced upon the snowman mascot of the attraction and gamely posed for this picture! Cheese .. i mean, Freeze!

Sofa playing kids

We were at the mall when i got a call from an overseas client and requested me to log on the net as she had some things to discuss through yahoo messenger. I looked for the nearest internet shop and was lucky to find one that had xbox and ps2 rentals as well ... this way i could attend to my work and at the same times the kids still have a good time. They really liked playing the xbox since what we have play station2, this was something different for them. I instructed them not to press anything since i saw a lot wires jutting out, thinking it might short circuit or something i listened to my safe side and told them not to touch. I remember the other internet cafe i went to that had no wires as they used Linksys router for all their computers. This sure is one way to make everything look uncluttered and likewise safe at the same time.

Having a fun time playing "The Incredibles" xbox game

Reminiscing

Last weekend while shopping for last minute school supplies, i was fortunate to have bumped into a long time friend that i have not seen for many years. She is now happily married with three children just like me and i noticed that she has not gained weight over the years despite bearing her children. I told her that she looks so slim and she said she attributes it to finally finding the diet pill that works for her and has stayed on with it ever since. We had almost an hour reminiscing about our high school days together with much fondness!

Florida

Was in Mall of Asia last Sunday when i noticed a huge crowd over the entertainment area ... there was a mini concert, and believe me i could hardly see the performer because all the hands of the people were stretched up holding up their digital cameras and phone cameras to take shots. Since there was no way for me to risk having my three kids weave through the sides of the crowd we decided to turn back and go around (longer route though, but no crowd) and when i saw a mall security guard i asked him who this person is.

Me: Manong ano pong meron? Sino po yung kumakanta?
Guard (stopped using his radio and turned to me): Singer po ata yan maam.. "

Hmm.. i kinda figured that myself since this guy was belting it out and the crowd was really happy!

Me (again): Ano po pangalan niya? Sino po siya?
Guard (medyo nawiwierduhan na sa akin na di ako nakuntento sa singer na answer): Florida ata. (Pronounced as "Florida" like the place)

Did not ring a bell ... must be a group ..
Then the guard adds

Then before we turned the corner he sang the hit song "Low ..low..low", ahhhh, siya pala yun! Then the following days saw Flo Rida (pronounced separetely) in almost all the major shows on tv ... so now i know na!

Weekend Agenda

Will head early morning tomorrow to the mall to do my weekend meetups with prospective clients and do my deliveries as well. In addition to my usual shopping list have to look for some nice looking baby clothing for my good friend who will have her baby Christened next week. My weekend days have to be well planned as i really try to fit in everything in my schedule to maximize the days Christian is here to drive for me and help me with the kids when i do my meet ups.

Cavity free

Last weekend brought the three kids for there 6 month visit to the dentist, and even if they have sweet tooths and are big on chocolates they are again proclaimed ... cavity free!

Our dentist congratulated me! hehehe!

So happy that they have never experienced tooth aches and other tooth related problems, i hate to see them hurt and i can't do anything about it. I am glad they just love brushing their teeths that is why i really make it a point to look for colorful toothbrushes whenever we are at the supermarket.

Till our next visit to the dentist come Christmas time.

A meaningful cruise

Bea has always been very interested with the teaching in the bible, and fortunately my papa has always been a great source of information. One question from Bea would lead to a historic recount of the answer and believe me Bea hardly blinks her eyes as she listens intently.

When we went up to Baguio and visited the church we all prayed quietly from outside as there was a mass going on and the church was filled up to the door. As we were walking away from the church i asked what she prayed for, she answered, "Mama was not able to pray becaus i was reading all the writings on the statues and was memorizing then so i can tell Papits (my papa) about it."

Then i tried searching for teachings from the bible on the internet and came across Christian Cruises and found it relly interesting. This Christian Cruise will take its passengers to an unforgetable trip as they visit actual places where certain events really happened coupled with the bilble teachings all throughout onboard a luxury yacht. I am sure this kind of Christian Cruises will not only help enrich the teaching of the bible but makes it an unforgtable experience for its participants.

Summer over ... not!

Here i was thinking summer is over with the onset of rain only to experience more heat that could easily lead to a heat stroke if stay longer hours under this penetrating rays.

Being in the house doing my work i can already feel a trickle of sweat with just very light chores ... imagine the construction workers outdoors.

The heat is something that is becoming unbearable ... i do my laundry at the rooftop, so when i finish spinning my dependable washer and head down the stairs to go down my view becomes all white and i stop for a while until it normalizes and head down the stairs.

School is about to start in a week and hope that the heat will not get the best of Bea and Sam while in school.

So summer ... still here to stay!

Upgrading my computer

Last week my hard disk crashed and all my files were lost. I usually would feel bad just thinking of my lost designs and unfinished work that i have to redo in time for my deadline ... but i have adapted a different approach to it and deal with the loss and not dwell on it. I must have matured overnight.

I brought my computer to the shop and tried to save my files if possible but he said there was no way to retrieve my files as the hard disk itself would not open. We then bought a brand new hard disk and brought it home to install all the programs i needed. Christian on the other hand felt sorry for me and gifted me with a nice gas lifted computer chair to somehow appease me. I really appreciate the gesture. I noticed he has been frequenting http://www.xoxide.com to shop for cool and hi-tech computer accesories. We got a wireless keyboard and mouse yesterday and he is still scouting out for more computer accesories and gadgets to make my work station as cool as it can be so maybe i can forget the loss of my files.

My weekday toy purchase

My good friend Irene and i were chatting when she shared with me her new sideline, she is selling educational and fun wooden toys. I said "Really, sige send me pics" .... our house is literally filled up with toys (since Bea's infant days till Vin's age now ... so practically 10 years collection) but of course i cannot have enough of it! Almost every month i go through their toys and check which are the ones they don't play with anymore and give it to their cousins or our neighbors's kids, and they are okay with that idea. I purchased plastic crates and segregated the toys per crate, that way if they play with one crate it is easy to pick up and fix as they just put it all inside. We have crates na puro cooking cooking, educational/puzzles, action figures (this one of their favorite as they love to role play), clay utensils, costumes, cars/trains, barbie/bratz with furniture and clothes and many more.

I always believed in letting the kids play, it really is a great way to interact with each other and build interpersonal skills, motor skills and you get to know them more, their interests and skills. Everytime we go out to the mall and we meet up with Christian and he sees we have another shopping bag he would say "You bought toys again .... " hehehhe!

Here are a few of Irene's wooden toys ... and she has lots pa!

They are sooo cute!

Rainbow

The kids were surprised to catch the rainbows vivid colors on their comforter, i was so excited to take the picture too. Talagang ROY G BIV talaga noh?!

Our very own rainbow ... where is the pot of gold Bea wondered :)

Puppy faces

Sam ran to me and said, "Mama what will i do, both Ate Bea and Vin want to play with me at the playstation and they are both using their cute puppy faces?" hahaha!

Went to the room just in time to see the two aspiring playmates projecting their funny faces ... sure was a difficult choice. Resolved it by coin toss and the promise of one of them challenging the winner. Solved!

Four years ago

Came across this picture of Vin when he was a year old ... really miss those days! Vin today is all over the place and would not stay put, boys have so much energy to burn.

I can still remember when i was pregnant with Vin and donning my cute and stylish maternity clothes and now he is four years old. Time really flies when you are having fun!

American Idol

Im as much as i liked David Archuleta to be THE American Idol, i was also happy that David Cook bagged it! They both deserved to win, as they two are good!

Watched the reruns of the finals night over and over kasi wasn't able to watch the live show because we were in the hospital the entire week. Same finals with the same intensity just few days late ... heheheh, but all the same i enjoyed the show and was pleased with the outcome.

Jewelry find

My sister has a vast collection of silver jewely and is still building her piece whenever we go to the mall and something catches her eye. I have always liked gold jewelry but when my sister showed me her recent find in acquiring Celtic jewelry i am now thinking otherwise. Being open to different colors in the pieces we wear gives us more freedom for versatility in what we can use to accessorize.

Wrapping books

This is the time again when the kids school books and me battle each other. hehehe!

I remeber last year i even blogged about my paghihirap sa pagwrap .. and now we meet again! I have not started though, but have all the pharapernalia for it from sturdy plastic, thick/thin/big/small books, colorless 3m scotch tape, scissors and alaxan (hahhaha!) .. sure ball sasakit na naman ang back and neck ko. Oh well.

Will do it tonight. Matira matibay! :)

Father's day

Time really flies fast .... it's Father's day soon! Was in the mall last weekend buying last minute school supplies and was scouting around for a gift for Christian from the kids and me. Looked inside a sports specialized store and was thinking of getting a elliptical to finally encourage him to keep fit. Another is i could enrol him in the gym near his office ... hmmmm. He has to be fit before he reaches 40!

Svelte and fit

Bumped into a high school schoolmate from Colegio San Agustin over the weekend. We sure had a lot of catching up to do and talked a lot about things. I marvelled at her slim figure and she said she has been taking diet pills and is following a strict diet that is why she is svelte. I really feel happy for her that she takes control of her life and she came out successful after high school.

Rachel Ray Ad Pic

Recently, Rachel Ray endorsed Dunkin Donuts in their website and it created a lot of controversy. Wonder why?

Dunkin' Donuts has pulled an online advertisement featuring Rachael Ray after complaints that a fringed black-and-white scarf that the celebrity chef wore in the ad offers symbolic support for Muslim extremism and terrorism. Its all because of the "controversial" black and white scarf she wore for the ad (which Dunkin Donuts replied publicly ...

" Thank you for taking the time voice your concerns about the Dunkin’ Donuts Rachael Ray advertisement. In the ad that you reference, Rachael is wearing a black-and-white silk scarf with a paisley design purchased at a U.S. retail store and selected by her stylist for the advertising shoot. This is not a ‘kaffiyeh’, which is typically a checkered and cotton/wool fabric")

Personally, i don't think they really intended to send that message with donning the scarf ... turns out it was chosen by the stylist as it looked good to balance the colored background. As of this writing the picture has been taken down.

Landline Plus

I have globe and sun dedicated cellphones ... and now i got a pldt landline plus! Am so satisfied with the service, the connection is crisp and people are not hard to call me. I am glad i got one, am thinking of converting my sun phone to another pldt landline plus.

I let Bea and Sam memorize the phone number already, so in school if there teachers have no load to text me they can just call me frtom the schools's landline. :)

Christmas trip

Summer fun is almost over but Christian and i are already planning a Christmas trip for the kids. Am now on the lookout for cheap hotels that i can reserve in advance to make our trip a good one. I want everything planned well to ensure no mishaps along the way. Will be checking out airline fares later as well, i really want to get a good deal.

Blood donors

It has been a while since i last been to the hospital, but because of my papa's hospitalization i actually lived there for two weeks. There were a lot of donors for blood and it was overwhelming that many people wanted to help in any way they can. They were tested first before they could donate, one of the things that they are looking for is if you have tatoos on your body, or if you have done drugs before even if you have been through drug rehab you are no longer eligible to donate blood. We were able to get more donors than needed and it was really overwhelming to know that we have a loy of friends willing to help.
