Firefox Update Glitch

The most recent automatic Firefox update apparently has a glitch .. and i was one of the victims! I was going on with my business when there was an alert notifying me of the update and if i wanted to restart the computer ... i clicked not just yet as i was in the middle of transacting through ym with an overseas client. So it said it will start when i load firefox later. I guess it was okay.

The next time i logged in, and the update automatically did its thing ... i was going to check my emails when i could not get in my yahoo account ... i was being directed elsewhere, then a blank page. It kept on doing this ... decided to delete cookies, temporary files and anything that i think could help it. But to no avail.

I googled (yes, google and ym was working except my yahoo mail and some blogs i wanted to go into) and typed the url that it seemed my window wanted me to be redirected. it turns out i was not the only one getting this and they have solved it by installing through the Mozilla site an Adpopblocker (supposedly it was hacked to bring users to a particular site that sells something), so i downloaded the adblocker, and instructed it to block the particular site ... and finally i had access to my email! It seems the firefox update was a fake! That is what the others are saying, but it sure gave me the scare ... not being able to access my email is really horrifying.

So if anyone of you encounter this problem, leave a message and i can help you and direct you to the adblocker.
